Alright, so let's get back to our topic which is Historical Story of Melaka, what is the story behind this famous historic city. During the late 14th century, Melaka was a fish village until Parameswara, prince from Sumatra landed on Melaka's shore. In time, due to it's strategic location between China and India, Melaka cam to lead the trading routes. But then Siames invaders tried to take over the successful trading port, yet it was a failure because the strength of an alliance with the Ming Emperor has been made to secure Melaka; over time Chinese settlers who married local Malays resulted in what was dubbed the Baba Nyonya peoples.

In 1511, Melaka was attacked by the Portuguese as their goals to spread Catholicism within the state. Because of this action, Muslim traders began to clear of the part. Melaka's reputation once again recovered in 1641 when it passed into Dutch hand's for 150 years. You can see the historical relics that being preserved by the state council and even UNESCO. For your information, UNESCO declared Malacca a World Heritage Site in 2008 due to its exceptional example of a multi-cultural trading town and the fact that the town is a living testimony to multi-cultural heritage.
